3/24/2023 0 Comments Zenith chronomaster sport gold![]() To recount its pioneering contributions to the evolution of chronographs, Zenith has created a platform dubbed “Master of Chronographs Since 1865”. ![]() The Swiss manufacture is also presenting the “Master of Chronographs” exhibition, a testament to the manufacture’s illustrious past and the myriad innovations Zenith has contributed to the advancement of mechanical chronographs. More information about the new Chronomaster Sport models can be found at is featuring the latest versions of its Chronomaster Open and Chronomaster Sport timepieces at the 2022 edition of Watches & Wonders. If you have any questions regarding availability and price already, please do not hesitate to drop our customer service a line. The new Zenith Chronomaster Sport is available as of now at an MSRP of €19,600, which is roughly double the price of the stainless steel variant. As a result, the second hand makes 100 tiny, imperceptible steps within 10 seconds on its sprint, allowing tenths of a second to be read off the 100 marks along the ceramic bezel. The secret of the high-speed second hand lies in the movement’s frequency of 10 beats per second. If you press the pusher at 3 o’clock, you’re in for a real treat: In just 10 seconds, the chronograph’s second hand races across the dial, at a pace that is six times faster than most chronographs. The rotor of the column-wheel chronograph is adorned with the Zenith star. The high frequency has a decisive advantage. Zenith’s timekeeping specialists have therefore developed the Caliber 3600, which oscillates at a frequency of 5 Hertz (or 36,000 vibrations), thus much faster than the industry standard of 4 Hz. Even though “accurate to the second” is considered praise, short time measurement is usually understood to mean something different these days, at least in the world of complicated mechanical chronographs. If you operate a conventional chronograph, you can watch the second hand make one dial revolution per minute. El Primero 3600: Blazingly fast at six times the normal speed But this too changed with the introduction of the Zenith Chronomaster Sport. However, anyone who wanted to get a watch with tenths of a second measurement from Zenith had to be quick, as this complication was only available on limited edition watches (such as the El Primero Striking 10th) in the past. The ceramic bezel is particularly scratch-resistant and UV-resistant. In particular, the “pump pushers” – the protruding pushers on the right flank of the case – and the three-colored dial, which was originally used on the El Primero original from 1969, are two popular design elements among die-hard Zenith fans. What you will find is the philosophy of the original El Primero A386 with the shape of the Chronomaster De Luca and the high-frequency performance that the El Primero caliber has now offered for over 50 years. ![]() Many elements are borrowed from older references, which have now been skillfully reconciled in the new Chronomaster Sport models. If you look at the new watch in detail, you can see (with a bit of a trained eye) that it is almost a best-of of all El Primero models to have ever existed. 100% El Primero The 41mm case is now available in 18-karat rose gold. Now, some four months after its original launch, Zenith unveiled the Chronomaster Sport in rose gold, creating the perfect watch for those who want to combine the technical brilliance of its predecessor with the precious metal’s shimmering elegance and heft. Thanks to an attractive price point and very compelling design, the watch was immediately well received by watch fans and the watch press alike. Right at the beginning of this year, Zenith made big waves: With the new Chronomaster Sport series, the Le Locle-based watch manufacturer presented a sophisticated high-frequency chronograph that is capable of measuring a tenth of a second due to its high beat rate of 5 hz.
